The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has officially opened applications for the 2026 edition of the National Girls in ICT (NG-ICT) 4.0 Competition.
The competition is open to participants from all 36 states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This initiative forms part of the Ministry’s broader commitment to bridging the gender gap in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and equipping more girls across Nigeria with the digital skills required to thrive in the future economy.
The programme is designed to inspire young girls to explore technology and develop innovative solutions that address real-life challenges within their communities.

Eligibility
The National Girls in ICT Programme is a team-based initiative aimed at empowering girls aged 10 to 16 years (JS1–SS3) to develop innovative technology solutions addressing challenges in Agriculture, Education, or Health.
Applications must be submitted in teams of two to three girls. Each application requires school approval as well as written consent from a parent or guardian. Only one entry is permitted per team.
Shortlisted teams will participate in structured training and mentorship sessions designed to strengthen their digital skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and confidence.
