About the Organization:

Tech Policy Press is a nonprofit media venture dedicated to exploring the intersection of technology and democracy. We are looking for passionate people to help us advance a pro-democracy movement in tech policy.

Fellowship Overview

For the 2025 Fellowship, we seek five reporting fellows to conduct research and write on AI policy, governance, and regulation. Some possible topics include:

  •  AI and data privacy
  • AI bias and discrimination
  • AI and disinformation/misinformation
  • AI and intellectual property
  • AI and the future of work
  • AI and national security
  • AI and competition

Funding

Selected fellows will receive a stipend of $10,000 to support their work.

Expectations

To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must:

  • Consistently produce analysis and reporting on technology and democracy topics
  • Maintain high ethical standards in all work
  • Balance research, writing, and fellowship activities effectively
  • Engage in learning opportunities provided by Tech Policy Press
  • Develop a network of expert sources in their focus area
  • Attend monthly cohort meetings (first Monday of every month at 11 am ET)
  • Draft a short monthly progress update report before each monthly meeting.
  • Schedule one-on-one meetings at least once a month.
