Apply now to become the Global Landscape Forum (GLF) Sustainable Finance Coordinator. The Sustainable Finance Coordinator will support GLF’s efforts to mainstream sustainable finance for nature-based solutions, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem restoration.
With an expanding portfolio of donors and partners, GLF’s Sustainable Finance program is growing, driving innovative financial solutions and strengthening partnerships with key financial organizations worldwide.
This role will contribute to the design and implementation of sustainable finance initiatives, ensuring alignment with GLF’s broader work streams, including Community & Action (GLFx and Youth), Learning, Knowledge, and Digital Communications, as well as integration with CIFOR-ICRAF initiatives, notably Resilient Landscapes.
The coordinator will play a central role in organizing finance-focused events, shaping knowledge products, and facilitating collaboration across GLF teams and external partners.
A key focus will be on increasing the bank ability of locally-led projects and supporting access to finance mechanisms for local communities and Indigenous Peoples, ensuring that sustainable finance solutions are both inclusive and impactful.
Through these efforts, the role will help scale investment into sustainable landscapes and drive meaningful action at both local and global levels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the GLF Deputy Director and the GLF Sustainable Finance Lead, the Sustainable Finance Coordinator will play a key role in advancing GLF’s sustainable finance efforts by managing project deliverables, fostering strategic partnerships, and integrating sustainable finance across GLF initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the coordination and implementation of sustainable finance grant deliverables, overseeing and monitoring project milestones and results, and engaging with partners and donors.
- Lead the organization and management of the flagship GLF sustainable finance events, as well as workshops, webinars and sustainable finance sessions within larger GLF events.
- Coordinate and deliver capacity-building initiatives, in collaboration with other GLF teams, aimed at enhancing local communities’ and Indigenous Peoples’ access to sustainable finance. This includes designing training programs, matchmaking events, and piloting new mechanisms for improving financial access for project developers.
- Work with the Knowledge and Communications teams to integrate sustainable finance objectives into broader events, campaigns, and policy narratives.
- Engage with strategic initiatives within CIFOR-ICRAF, notably Resilient Landscapes, to align efforts, share expertise, and identify opportunities for collaboration on sustainable finance, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem restoration.
Eligibility
- A university degree in a related discipline (e.g., environmental finance, sustainable finance, business management and development, international development, environmental studies, international relations, or a similar field).
- At least 3 years of experience in sustainable finance. Experience in program management, multi-stakeholder processes, particularly in developing countries or projects focused on sustainable landscapes, is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with international development and/or environmental policy processes is desirable.
- Experience engaging with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or Rio Conventions (CBD, UNFCCC, UNCCD) is a plus but not required.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other languages (especially French, Spanish, Indonesian, or German) is an advantage.
