Charm Africa is partnering with Magamba Networks, Women Leaders Network for Development (RFLD), and CIVICUS Alliance to host a 2-day virtual hackathon.

Hackathon Goals:

Design a solution: Develop a digital solution that allows users to access and interact with key African human rights instruments, including the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the Kampala Convention, and AU Institutions.

The Challenge:

Develop a solution that makes African human rights charters and protocols more accessible to everyone. Your solution must consider:

  • Accessibility: Solution must work both online and offline.
  • Connectivity: Links Africans to regional organs, including the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Civil Society organisations, and human rights defenders.
  • User Interface: Provides a user-friendly interface to access key human rights instruments.
  • Reporting: Enables users to report human rights violations and track progress.
  • Creative/innovative: The solution encourages engagement and learning in a creative and innovative way.

Key Solution Requirements:

Online and Offline Use: Ensure functionality with or without internet access

User-Friendly: Make it accessible to a wide range of users, gadgets and platforms as well as appealing to different age groups.

Seamless Experience: Facilitate easy access and interaction with human rights instrument, multi-lingual support.
