Applications for the Agora Policy Writing Fellowship 2025 are now open.
Agora Policy invites early- to mid-career staff members from Nigerian civil society and media organizations, think tanks, and government agencies to apply for its inaugural Policy Writing Fellowship.
The fellowship is intended to develop and deepen the competitively selected participants’ ability to conceptualize, research, and write compelling and impactful policy papers.
It is part of a new project by Agora Policy, titled the Policy Support, Deepening and Engagement (PSDE) project aimed at strengthening data-driven and participatory approach to policymaking and governance in the country, supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
Non-residential, the three-month fellowship will offer writing workshops and hands-on supervision to the fellows and culminate in individual writing projects (which will attract research grants).
Agora Policy is a Nigerian think tank and non-profit committed to finding practical solutions to urgent national challenges. They are decidedly evidence-led and solution-driven.
They conduct policy research, facilitate frank and purposeful dialogue, and build capacity for governance, policy and advocacy.
Eligibility
- An ideal fellow will have at least a first degree in any discipline;
- Must be comfortable with numbers and
- Must show measurable passion for research, writing and public policy.
Application
Interested candidates are invited to submit a 400-word statement of purpose, their resume/CV, two policy-related writing samples (published or unpublished), and a letter of endorsement from their employers or a reference letter for freelancers.
