Applications now open for the Farmers for the Future Grant

The Farmers for the Future Grant (F4F Grant) is a dynamic initiative designed to foster agricultural entrepreneurship by providing young individuals with promising agri-business ventures access to equity-free funding and essential resources for business growth.

This project is a collaborative effort initiated and funded by the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and executed by Fate Foundation.

It specifically targets current NYSC members, aligning with BATNF’s commitment to promoting and supporting youth engagement in sustainable agricultural practices.

Objectives

  • Make agribusiness attractive to young people.
  • Reduce youth unemployment.
  • Drive youth engagement in agriculture.
  • Youth development.
  • Train and empower youth in agro-practices.

Prizes 

The top six finalists will receive an equity-free grant totaling ₦10 million:

  • ₦3 million for the 1st Prize.
  • ₦2 million for the 2nd Prize.
  • ₦1 million for the 3rd Prize.

Additional Benefits:

  • Access to financial institutions and investors for follow-on financing or credit facilities.
  • Technical support to establish their agribusinesses.
  • Training and capacity building.

Competition Stages

  • Submit Your Application
    The online application portal will be open for submissions.
  • Virtual Bootcamp
    Twenty selected businesses will undergo a rigorous virtual bootcamp to refine their business concepts and build compelling pitches.
  • Pitch Event & Award
    The top ten businesses from the bootcamp will pitch their ideas before a panel of expert judges and investors. Three winners will be selected.
  • Mentorship
    The three winners will receive financing to execute, strengthen, and scale their businesses under the guidance of seasoned mentors. They will also be connected to relevant networks essential for their growth.
  • Join the Farmers for the Future Alumni
    Winners will continue to enjoy exclusive access to expert mentorship, insider opportunities, and a robust support network that opens doors to follow-on financing, new markets, and more.
