Job Overview

Dataphyte is seeking a Communications and Social Media Officer to support the dissemination of reports, stories, and research outputs across digital platforms.

The successful candidate will communicate data-driven reports and stories into engaging content for social media, including graphics and short videos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the organisation’s social media platforms with consistent, engaging content.
  • Work closely with editorial and research teams to translate key findings from reports and investigations into clear social media posts.
  • Design infographics, social media cards, and visual explainers for reports and publications.
  • Produce and edit short-form social media videos to promote stories, reports, and projects.
  • Develop content strategies to improve reach, engagement, and visibility.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to inform content strategy.
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, clear, and aligned with editorial standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in communications, social media management, journalism, or a newsroom environment.
  • Strong ability to write clear, engaging social media content based on reports, research, and data insights.
  • Proficiency in Canva and other infographic design tools.
  • Experience with social media video editing tools (e.g., CapCut).
  • Ability to translate complex reports, research findings, and data insights into simple, engaging content.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital audience engagement.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when communicating data and research findings.
