The National Girls in ICT Programme is a team-based initiative empowering girls aged 10–16 (JS1–SS3) to develop innovative technology solutions addressing challenges in Agriculture, Education, or Health.
This competition is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy to encourage female participation in the ICT sector and empower them to become leaders in this dynamic field.

Eligibility CriteriaÂ
- be girls in secondary schools in Nigeria
- be between the ages of 10 and 16.
- be ready to showcase their skills, creativity, and innovation in various ICT-related domains.
- be in a team of 2–3 girls.
- School approval and parent/guardian consent are required.
- Only one submission per team is allowed.
Application Guidelines for the National Girls in ICT Competition 2026
Follow the procedure below to apply for the National Girls in ICT Competition;
- Register:Â Sign up for the competition through the registration portal here
- Form a Team:Â Build a team and register with the support of your teachers.
- Solve a Problem:Â Identify a problem in your community and develop a tech-based solution.
- Training Programs:Â Participate in a 5-day training program across states to enhance your technical skills.
- Regional Competitions:Â Showcase your solution in regional competitions to qualify for the national stage.
- Virtual Pitching:Â Present your innovative solution in a virtual pitching competition evaluated by qualified judges.
- Recognition and Rewards: Receive certificates, prizes, and opportunities for further education and development.
