She Code Africa Laptop Scholarship, Application Cycle 2 (2026)

The She Code Africa Laptop Scholarship (Cycle 2) is a targeted initiative created to support women and girls in some regions of Nigeria who are pursuing learning paths and careers in technology but lack access to a personal laptop — a critical tool for learning, coding, project building, and professional growth in tech.

The scholarship is fully funded through a partnership with HP, one of the world’s leading technology companies.

This round of the scholarship opens doors not only to members of the She Code Africa community but also to eligible applicants from FCT Abuja, Enugu State, Osun State, and Bayelsa State in Nigeria, giving wider access to young women passionate about tech.

What the Laptop Scholarship Is

The Laptop Scholarship is designed to remove a common barrier faced by many aspiring women in tech: lack of access to a personal laptop.

This barrier often limits learners from participating in online courses, virtual classes, practical projects, self-learning, and remote opportunities that require personal computing devices.

The scholarship provides brand-new laptops funded by HP to selected beneficiaries who show a clear interest in technology and explain how having a laptop will help them grow their skills and careers.

Benefits

Selected scholarship recipients will receive:

  • A brand-new laptop fully funded by HP
  • Tools to support learning, development, and hands-on tech work
  • Access to opportunities and training that require a personal computer
  • An opportunity to accelerate their tech journey through better access and resources

Who Can Apply

To be eligible for this scholarship round, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Gender: Applicants must identify as women or girls
  2. Tech Focus: Applicants must be pursuing or interested in a career or learning path in technology
  3. Residence: Applicants must reside in one of the following states in Nigeria:
    • Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja

    • Bayelsa State
  4. Access Limitation: Applicants must not already own a personal laptop
  5. Interest & Goals: Applicants must demonstrate passion for tech, clear goals, and explain how access to a laptop will support their personal and professional growth

Important:

  • Male applicants are not eligible.
  • Applicants with no demonstrated interest or involvement in tech will not be considered.
  • Applicants who do not live in the listed states will not be able to complete the form or be considered.

Selection Criteria

The selection process is based on:

  • Demonstrated interest in technology: This could be shown through self-learning, online courses, tech projects, community participation, or related activities.
  • Clarity of goals: Applicants should explain how access to a laptop will help them advance in tech — what they plan to learn, build, study, or achieve with the device.
  • Potential for impact: The selection committee looks at how a beneficiary can sustain growth and possibly inspire other women in technology.

Selections are evaluated holistically to ensure the laptops go to applicants who have both potential and purpose in tech careers.
